What It Is & How It Helps You Stay Independent
If you or a loved one want to remain safely at home but need extra support, Ontario Health atHome is the government program designed to make that possible.
It connects Ontarians with publicly funded home care services, helping people recover, manage health conditions, or age in place with dignity.
All services are coordinated through a care coordinator who builds your care plan but with the lack of therapist in the Ottawa community many people wait for many months before seeing someone to be assessed.
This is where we can help out.
Real life scenario:
Our client was stuck on a waitlist for a government-funded assessment, their safety and independence shouldn't had to wait.
Here is a step-by-step example of how we intervene:
Immediate Mobility Support
Instead of waiting weeks or months for a mobility device through standard channels, we provided a loaner wheelchair immediately. This ensures the individual can navigate their home safely and attend medical appointments while their permanent file is processed.
Fast-Tracking the Assessment
Because the lack of therapists in the Ottawa community often causes delays, we bypass the queue by connecting the client with a private Occupational Therapist (OT).
Funding & Equipment Coordination
Once the private OT completes the assessment, we assist with the next steps:
We will help you connect with a local private therapist to help you or your loved one a quicker assessment for your safety needs.
